Itinerary
We recommend you arrive the night before and stay at
one of the hotels or lodges in the area. We can arrange
transfers if required.
Day 1 – Starting at 9:00am with a safety briefing, then
transfer to the trail head. Setting off from the picturesque
Lake Ada, the aim is to arrive at Powena Creek by
4:30pm, set up camp and relax over a hearty meal or take
a swim in the tarn.
Day 2 – Starts with a magical walk around Lake Fanny
and traversing hidden valleys and ancient pine forests, the opportunity to swim in a tarn before lunch and conclude the day arriving at Dixons Kingdom.
Day 3 – Kicks off exploring Mt. Jerusalem, Solomons Throne, the Temple and the Pools of Bethesda time permitting and finishing not far from where we started at Wild Dog Creek, relaxing on the final evening of the Grand Traverse.
Day 4 – We make our final trek out of the Walls of Jerusalem National Park with a chance of seeing some of the peaks of the Du Cane range and Cradle Mountain as we head for Lake Rowallan and transfers to either Launceston or back to the Central Highlands.
Grade
This four-day, three-night walking, hiking, and camping
experience is moderate to demanding but not difficult.
You’ll walk no more than 10 kilometres per day, with no
major hills to climb, and you’ll be travelling light.
We don’t set a pace — you can move at a comfortable
rhythm, and there’s always an opportunity to take a
refreshing swim in a tarn during the heat of the day.
