Western Lakes Fly Fishing Safari

What we love about the Western Lakes Fly Fishing Safari.

This is for the purists at heart, where we pit you against nature over an amazing three days.

The sight fishing is unbelievable, but be warned, these fish are wily. Nature will sooth the soul, it is an enchanting and enriching experience for the well travelled fly fisher.

“Jason finally convinced me to come out to the back country and catch one of his pets. It was a monster and I am so glad I was convinced to come on this incredible fly fishing odyssey. The experience will stay with me forever. All I had to arrange were the arrival and departure dates at the airport. Dry fly fishing mecca, the scenery and the elements. Just to hear Jason say …here it comes put your fly there…wait… STRIKE! I will live that moment for a long time. Thank you my friend.”

About the Safari Tour

Welcome to the land of one thousand lakes, an immersive exclusive wilderness adventure designed exclusively for you and your party.

Over three days and up to four nights, you’ll traverse near and into the breathtaking Walls of Jerusalem National Park, guided by two experienced wilderness guides.

This once-in-a-lifetime journey will take you through remote Tasmanian bush that few ever experience. You’ll walk through ancient pine forests, note glorious mountains, and breathe in the world’s freshest air. Along the way, encounter Tasmania’s unique wildlife, swim in its crystal clear tarns and savour rustic camp side meals.

With everything taken care of—from carrying gear to setting up camp—your focus will be entirely on soaking in the beauty and tranquillity of this untouched wilderness and the possibility of catching a wild brown trout.

A moderate level of fitness is recommended for this unforgettable experience.

Itinerary

We recommend you arrive the night before and we can arrange transfers if required.

Grade

This three days, 2 nights fly fishing safari is moderate to demanding but not difficult.

The guides are your pack horses, allowing you to tread lightly where very few people have travelled.

This is a curated experience but if the weather is inclement we may need to be more mobile, and whilst we can cater for 8 to 88 year olds, on this particular experience it is more likely you are aged from 16 to 76.
